Improvised Flying

Everyone knows that I haven't flown in a long time due to my location. So when I got a little extra room (the pilots moved out of my tent) I set up my flight simulator. I still have some work to do but it flys.

My 3' X 7' Bed Replaced My 108" X 96" CHU

My new "house"

Well the accommodations here in Afghanistan aren't quite as comfortable as Iraq. But its like they used to say about Toyota.... You asked for it You got it.

Time to leave Iraq

Of course this was in October but I just figured out how to post. After 16 months in Iraq, I was reassigned as the Site Manager somewhere in Afghanistan. So I left Iraq in the middle of the night and went from Tikrit to Balad to Baghdad to Kuwait. I left from the Sherpa terminal on a C-23 which was really cool. It is a small airplane and I really enjoyed the ride. I took a C-17 from Balad to Baghdad and on to Kuwait. Also a C-17 to Afghanistan and that was great because there were only 7 on the airplane with me but it was full of ammunition so that was a little un-nerving. Not too many pics on that trip. The picture on the bottom is me saying goodbye to the control tower, the middle photo is the Sherpa Terminal on base, and the top is a shot out the backdoor of the C-17 at BIAP (Baghdad International Airport).
